For those fans out there that are getting excited for the San Luis Obispo Blues 2014 season to start, there is now even more reason to get excited. This year the California Collegiate League has chosen San Luis Obispo’s very own Sinsheimer Stadium to be the location for the 2014 CCL play-offs. This event will draw fans from all over California to watch the top teams battle for first place right here on the Central Coast.
Due to the change in teams the CCL has experienced this year, the play-off structure will look slightly different than it has in past years. With the addition of the four new teams (Menlo Park Legends, Neptune Beach Pearls, Pacific Union Capitalists, and Walnut Creek Crawdads), a new Northern Division will be added to the CCL, which will increase competition. The winning teams from each division will travel to San Luis Obispo, along with the wild-card team who holds the highest record amongst the three divisions after the division champions, and participate in the 4-day long playoffs. The Blues hope to fight their way to the top of the Central Division and be able to play in the playoffs on their home turf.
In addition to the excitement of the tournament, the CCL has partnered with Cal Poly Housing to host the players of the visiting teams over the course of the playoffs. This will not only provide these players with comfortable housing, but will give them a unique look at the college side of San Luis Obispo and will over-all improve their stay here. On top of that, the Apple Farm has generously offered a discounted rate for those fans or family members of the players who are coming from out of town. The Apple Farm will provide their guests with comfortable rooms, an American Restaurant, and is located close to Cal Poly, Sinsheimer Field, and Downtown San Luis Obispo. To receive this discount the promotional code is: SLO Blues.
The San Luis Obispo Blues are honored to host the 2014 CCL play-off and hope to be able to play in them and make their fans proud.
