Long time Sierra Vista CEO Glen Carlson was the honored guest at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Selma Carlson Diagnostic Center in San Luis Obispo.

Diagnostic

Carlson opened the facility in 1985, and named it after his mother who died of breast cancer early in his life. Twenty-eight years later, the Center has “re-opened” as an independent full service diagnostic imaging facility. Formerly focused on women’s services, Selma Carlson Diagnostic Center now features a completely remodeled, patient friendly facility including some of the most advanced technology available on the Central Coast. Patients will benefit from the addition of a 3Tesla MRI large bore scanner with breast MRI capability, a 40 slice low dose CT scanner, digital ultrasound and digital mammography with Mammopad®, all at competitive outpatient pricing.

The Selma Carlson Diagnostic Center was formerly operated under the license of Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. While the center remains affiliated with the hospital, the designation as an independent testing facility means the patients will no longer have to endure a lengthy registration process or pay hospital prices. A cash pricing list is also available for patients without insurance or who have a high-deductible health plan.
