Sesloc 300SESLOC Federal Credit Union has moved into its new headquarters campus at 3855 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. The 44,000 square foot facility includes SESLOC’s administrative office and a freestanding member-serving branch. Pacific Eye Surgeons will occupy 9,000 square feet of the building in 2015.

SESLOC President and CEO Geri LaChance said construction of the new campus marked an exciting chapter in the credit union’s 72-year history. “Our membership has grown and so has our community impact,” LaChance said. “The new campus makes a proud statement about all we’ve accomplished, and it prepares us for the next generation of member service.”

LaChance said the SESLOC board of directors and leadership team’s vision of a warm and welcoming facility also incorporates environmentally friendly features. The buildings utilize state of the art technology, are energy efficient and surrounded with drought tolerant landscaping. Large windows maximize natural light and capture views of surrounding hillsides. Spectacular oversized photos of local landscapes bring a sense of the outdoors into the buildings.

In addition to the services the facility provides members, the campus offers an added benefit to the local community: SESLOC’s unused parking spaces are made available on evenings and weekends to users of the adjacent Damon Garcia sports fields. “SESLOC believes in actively supporting our community.  Assisting with additional parking for soccer families addresses an existing parking shortage and helps make the weekend family soccer experience more enjoyable,” LaChance said.

The new campus was designed by RRM Design Group and constructed by Specialty Construction Inc., both headquartered in San Luis Obispo. LaChance, who served as project manager, said that SESLOC placed a high priority on using local talent in the development of the site. “With local companies providing design and construction, landscaping, electrical and interior design and other services, SESLOC created jobs throughout the county to benefit our neighbors, friends and community,” she said.

Founded in 1942 to serve San Luis Obispo County residents, SESLOC has 37,000 members, 119 employees and assets of $630 million. LaChance joined the organization as president and CEO in December of 2011. Retired Cal Poly athletic director Vic Buccola chairs the group’s seven member board of directors.

SESLOC Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial institution with branch locations in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Arroyo Grande, and Atascadero. An ATM remains open at SESLOC’s former location at 11491 Los Osos Valley Road in San Luis Obispo.
