Kristin Flynn has been hired as chief human resources officer at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. In this capacity, Flynn will provide leadership for all human resource functions including strategy, recruitment and retention, organizational development, and benefits and compensation for nearly 800 employees at the hospital.

Flynn spent the last eight years as human resources director for Dignity Health, which included the past two years on the Central Coast and six years at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. Prior to that, she worked at Far Northern Regional Center in Redding as their risk assessment specialist.

Flynn has a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management with specialization in Human Capital and Labor Relations Management from National University. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara.

“Kristin is an experienced human resources professional with a diverse perspective and an out-of-the-box thought process,” said Candace Markwith, chief executive officer at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. “She possesses the personal value set to work collaboratively across all departments and make positive contributions to the overall strategy of our organization.”

With nearly 800 employees Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center is the largest private employer in the city of San Luis Obispo and the second largest in the county.
