San Luis Obispo City Council member Andrew Carter just announced he will soon step down from his role at the City to be the new city administrator of Guadalupe. Carter, who has less than two years left in his current term, has served on the City Council since he was first elected to the position in 2006. The remaining four City Council members will now need to decide whether to appoint a replacement for Carter or call a special election to fill his seat. Following a background check, contract negotiations and approval from the Guadalupe City Council scheduled for Feb. 12, Carter would resign from the SLO City Council on Feb. 20 making his last meeting on the council on Feb. 19.
