A prosperous community often depends heavily on a thoughtful and open city government.

Mail-in ballots for this November’s election will soon land in mailboxes throughout the city and amongst the measures and propositions affecting local schools and jurisdictions is a mayoral and two open City Council seats.

To help our members further understand each candidate’s thoughts on the City’s fiscal oversight, opportunities for SLO in the coming years, challenges facing local businesses and their stance on Measure G, we recently posed four questions and gathered their answers.

The questions and the candidate’s answers are available here.

The new council will play a critical decision-making role on numerous issues such as the implementation of the City’s Economic Development Strategic Plan and the update of the Land Use and Circulation Element, which will shape the community and impact business success for coming decades.

If you are interested in more information, the Chamber recently hosted a Meet the Candidate forum. The question and answer portion of the event is available here.
