Community-Foundation-Check 450SPOKES received a $1,625 grant from The Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County (CFSLOCO). This grant will help purchase licensing from to be shared among 90+ nonprofit organizations in 2014. is an online library that provides 24-hour access to more than 50,000 tutorials on various software, design and management courses. The staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations will be able to access the library through their Spokes memberships to strengthen their professional development skills and more efficiently perform the functions of their organizations. By sharing the licensing, Spokes members are able to access, as well as many other services and resources, for less cost than purchasing a subscription on their own.

“Through one grant to Spokes, the Foundation is able to assist 90 plus nonprofit members of SPOKES,” Claire Clark, interim CEO of CFSLOCO said. “Continued training opportunities for nonprofit staff and volunteers are critical to preserving a strong local nonprofit sector.”

SPOKES’ grant is among 27 recently awarded by the CFSLOCO at a total of $121,750.  The grant is made possible through the generous support of the Foundation’s Community Endowment and many donor funds held at the Foundation.
