villageDirected by popular performer Steve McAndrew, and backed by professional pianist Brett Mitchell, the Village Voices mixed chorus will hold its annual concert on Friday Aug. 22, from 2 – 3 p.m.

In a three-decade career, McAndrew  has performed with such notables as Hanna Barbara Studios, the Lennon Sisters, and Martha Ray and had a featured role in NPR’s production of Oklahoma! Mitchell studied at the Stan Kenton Stage Band Clinic, and later with Paul Simon, and has written several movie scores.

“This polished pair of musicians bring a high standard of musicianship and sparkle to our hand-picked chorus at The Villages,” said Faith Carlson, Life Enrichment Director for The Villages.

Well-rehearsed and energized with anticipation, The Village Voices will fill the living room at The Palms with the rich harmonies and new arrangements of such old standards as “Pennies from Heaven,” “Write Myself a Letter,” and “Show Me the Way to Go Home.”

The concert is free of charge and the public is welcome. Call 805-543-2300 for more information or to reserve a seat. Reservations are suggested, but not required.
