The community can support children and families on the Central Coast and get delicious, homemade Mexican meal at the festive Tres de Mayo fundraiser on May 3.
The Child Development Resource Center (CDRC) Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA) presents Tres de Mayo, a fundraiser to support child development services and therapeutic interventions to strengthen families with diverse incomes on the Central Coast.
“The CDRC families are working together to encourage community support of our program through this unique fundraiser,” said CDRC Executive Director Terri Kurczewski. “Volunteers, staff and parents are selling tickets now through April 28.”
For a donation of just $7.50, supporters get one ticket for two chicken enchiladas, rice, and beans. The fundraiser is taking place on Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1720 Bishop St., San Luis Obispo, but tickets must be purchased in advance. All proceeds benefit the CDRC’s child and family services.
The CDRC is a nonprofit organization that works in partnership with families to promote positive, meaningful, and healthy relationships. For more than 40 years, the center has created an atmosphere of safety, acceptance, and love to provide a supportive place for children. All tickets directly support the CDRC’s efforts to make family members the most important people in their children’s lives.
This need-based program has been praised for its outstanding community support and involvement, and for offering exemplary early prevention and intervention programs that combat child abuse and neglect with a unique “wrap-around” approach to child development, mental health, and family services.
