Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County received a $2,500 grant from the Vons Foundation and its employees to support the agency’s youth mentoring programs and associated group activities.
“Washington State Institute for Public Policy provided evidence that “For each dollar spent on Big Brothers Big Sisters’ ‘research-based’ prevention programs for youth, more than a dollar’s worth of benefits will be generated in the realm of drug and crime reduction and educational advancement,” said Anna Boyd-Bucy, the agency’s executive director. “We are grateful for Vons investment in our community.”
