The San Luis Obispo County Visitors & Conference Bureau launched its annual Restaurant Month promotion today with 43 restaurants participating countywide. New in 2013 is Wine Wednesdays. Each Wednesday select restaurants will host a winery from the San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles region at their establishment for a special wine tasting as a way to also entice guests to participate in Restaurant Month. Visitors and locals can experience the region’s locally inspired cuisine throughout January as participating restaurants offer special three-course prix fixe menus and promotions. This statewide promotion brings California Cuisine to life in area communities of: Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Avila Beach, Cambria, Cayucos, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo.

“San Luis Obispo County Restaurant Month is an incredible opportunity to experience some great food created by the region’s talented chefs paired with local wines of the region,” said Stacie Jacob, executive director of the San Luis Obispo County Visitor’s and Conference Bureau. “January is also a great time to get hotel deals and experience the purity of San Luis Obispo County. From wine tasting excursions to outdoor adventures to immersing yourself in activities we invite you to come play in San Luis Obispo County.”

Here’s how it works. Participating restaurants will serve three-course prix fixe menus for $30 for 30 days in January (other offers are available). Menus may be paired with award-winning wines from Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo wine country for an additional charge.
