The SLO Chamber celebrates member, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church’s 150 year anniversary, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

St. Stephen’s was founded in 1867 as the 1st organized Protestant church in San Luis Obispo County. The original church building, locally known as a “carpenter gothic” gem, was built of Monterey Pine beams from Cambria, Ca. and covered with redwood on a site which cost $10. The rich hues of its memorial stained glass windows reflect both a pioneer heritage and a radiant future. The building today still retains the lines and flavor of the original structure.

St. Stephen’s mission is to open their hearts to God and to share Christ’s unconditional love with the world; according to their website.
