Start off the holiday season with one of the community’s most beloved holiday spectacles. Downtown SLO invites the public to its 42nd Annual Holiday Parade in Downtown San Luis Obispo on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7 p.m. This year’s parade theme is “Holiday Hoedown”.

Bob Douglass, the former owner of SLO Luggage, will serve as the Parade Marshal for the 42nd Annual Holiday Parade. The parade features bright floats, festive marching bands, classic carolers, skateboarding elves and Santa himself. The parade route is nine blocks long starting on Chorro at Palm and ending on Higuera at Nipomo. The parade is the largest on the Central Coast and attracts upwards of 10,000 spectators.

Parade entries will be competing for Best in Theme, Most Creative and Most Entertaining. Eleven parade announcers will be stationed along the nine-block parade route ensuring every spectator has a front row seat. This event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.
