Logo 1 ColorCanzona Women’s Ensemble presents their first concert of the season, “A Tapestry of Song” on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m., at the Cuesta College CPAC.

The concert has an international flair that celebrates Canzona’s upcoming tour to Vancouver, British Columbia, where the Ensemble has been invited to participate in the Tapestry International Celebration of Women’s Choirs in May 2015.

Songs from many parts of the world will be performed, along with traditional and contemporary American tunes.  “There’s a sense of adventure in weaving together songs from far-flung parts of the world with those traditional favorites we all love” says Director Cricket Handler.

Canzona will be joined by the Concert Choir of the Central Coast Children’s Choir, under the direction of Melody Svennungsen in a performance of Eatnemen Vuelie by Norwegian composer Frode Fjellheim, as sung by Cantus Choir in the Disney film Frozen.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and $10 for students.  They may be ordered online at Canzona’s website:  www.canzonawomen.org, or through brownpapertickets.com.  The CPAC is located off Highway 1 on the Cuesta College campus.
