City Farm SLO is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated community event, the second annual Farm Games Hoedown, taking place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Rancho Toro y Oso in San Luis Obispo. Tickets and sponsorships are officially available now.

This year’s Hoedown takes on global significance as City Farm SLO aligns with the United Nations to celebrate the International Year of the Woman Farmer. The event will proudly spotlight the vital role women play in global agriculture, producing up to 80% of the world’s food, while raising awareness around critical barriers they face in accessing land, credit, and education. Nominations will be available soon to honor local female farmers who embody this work.

The Farm Games Hoedown promises a lively, action-packed evening for guests 21 and over. The event kicks off with the signature “Farm Games,” featuring four competing teams going head-to-head in a series of fun, hands-on farming tasks as they battle it out for ultimate “Farm Fame” (and bragging rights). Following the games, guests will enjoy a hearty BBQ dinner, alongside a silent and live auction packed with local goods and experiences. The night will conclude with an authentic hoedown dance featuring high-energy, local favorite live music from The Mother Corn Shuckers.

All proceeds from the event directly support the youth and community programs, regenerative agriculture practices, and farm-based education that City Farm SLO is renowned for throughout the Central Coast.

“Tickets and corporate sponsorships are moving quickly,” said Kayla Rutland, City Farm SLO Executive Director. “This is a unique opportunity for our community to come together, kick up their boots, and support the critical agricultural education that empowers our local youth.” To purchase tickets, view sponsorship packages, or sign up as a team, please visit cityfarmslo.org/hoedown or contact Krista Elmore at [email protected].
