French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) that is a part of the Dignity Health Central Coast network of hospitals that includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH), and Marian Regional Medical Center (MRMC), is pleased to announce that it has been included in the 2015 edition of the Becker’s Hospital Review list of “100 Great Community Hospitals” in the United States.
Becker’s Hospital Review is a monthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on various rankings and awards. Becker’s is an independent reviewer of data, and a hospital cannot pay for inclusion on the Top 100 list. FHMC is one of only six recipients in California to have been acknowledged for the 2015 list.
“This outstanding accomplishment falls on the heels of FHMC being recognized as a Top 100 Hospital in the Nation by Truven Health Analytics and as a recipient of the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award,” says Alan Iftiniuk, FHMC President & CEO. “This significant recognition is yet another validation of the unwavering commitment to quality care, patient safety, and customer service by our staff and our physicians to our community.”
The hospitals featured on the list have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs. Some are suburban hospitals, but many are located in rural areas and are their communities’ sole hospital. Becker’s Hospital Review has published a version of this every year since 2011, and this is the fourth time the list has included 100 hospitals.
FHMC continues to transform its hospital campus with the Copeland Health Pavilion scheduled for completion in the late fall. Additional upgrades and enhancements are being made to sure our community has access to the central coast’s most beautiful, innovative, and modernized facility. This most recent acknowledgement is a testament to the hard work and dedication by the French Hospital physicians, employees, volunteers, donors and board members.
