The San Luis Obispo Little Theatre continues the celebration of their 70th Season with the classic, Tony Award-winning musical Guys and Dolls. All the hot gamblers are in town, and they are all counting on Nathan Detroit to set up this week’s incarnation of “The Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York.” Meanwhile Sarah Brown, head of Broadway’s Save-a-Soul Mission, is short on sinners; Miss Adelaide is planning her wedding to Nathan, and Sky Masterson bets on the right girl at the wrong time. All of these plot twists and turns are based on stories by Damon Runyon and set to the Tony winning music and lyrics of Frank Loesser. Directed by the Little Theatre’s Kevin Harris, Guys and Dolls runs February 17-March 12 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Two special Gala Saturday Night performances will take place on February 25 and March 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Theses festive events will feature generous pre-show hors d’oeuvres and dessert, wine, and martinis at the main bar. Guests are encouraged to dress the part in 1950’s gangster attire or semi-formal cocktail dresses and suits. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets for Gala Saturday Nights are 50-75 dollars per person. Tickets for all other performances range in price from 35-45 dollars. Tickets may be purchased at slolittletheatre.org or by calling (805) 786-2440.
