Little paper hands will wallpaper SESLOC Federal Credit Union branches throughout August, signifying the kind donations members are making to a one-of-a-kind-park being built for disabled children.

Over the past two years, SESLOC members have contributed $12,980 to the Jack Ready Imagination Park’s fundraising efforts. Through August 31, members are again encouraged to donate with case or check, or a funds transfer from their SESLOC account. Receipts can be given to members who wish to have documentation for tax purposes.

The park , which will be located on the Nipomo Mesa, will be accessible by foot, bike, stroller, wheelchair and walker, allowing children with disabilities to play alongside able-bodied friends and relatives. The park is being built by jack’s Helping Hand, a local nonprofit that provides assistance to children with disabilities, illnesses or severe injuries.

Located on 30 acres, the park will include themed play structures, a therapeutic equestrian riding center and a sensory garden. It will also feature sports area, including basketball and volleyball courts, picnic areas and a gazebo for entire families to get together.

Once built, the Jack Ready Imagination Park will be the only universally accessible park between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Each of the three phases of construction cost between $1 million and $2 million.
