The San Luis Obispo County Housing Trust Fund announced it has once again been awarded a community development grant from Bank of America to continue helping make quality affordable housing accessible for working families in the central coast.
“Bank of America has always been one of the Housing Trust Fund’s strongest and most generous supporters,” said Jerry Rioux, the Housing Trust Fund’s executive director. “The bank has contributed well over $100,000 to date to support our efforts to address the local affordable housing crisis.”
“Bank of America works to make financial lives better, and works with local partners like the Housing Trust Fund to remove barriers to economic mobility such as greater access and availability of housing for underserved residents of San Luis Obispo County,” said Greg Bland, Central Coast market president at Bank of America.
The Housing Trust Fund is a nonprofit corporation that was formed in 2003 to increase the supply of affordable housing in San Luis Obispo County. Rather than develop, own or manage affordable housing, it provides financing and technical assistance to help private developers, nonprofit agencies and local governments create and preserve homes that working families, seniors and persons with disabilities can afford to rent and buy. The Housing Trust Fund has provided over $18.5 million in financing to assist well over 700 units of affordable housing in the county. Additional information is available online at www.slochtf.org.
