Classical music is well represented with master pianist Emanuel Ax performing an all-Beethoven concert and the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra. World music and dance span the globe: Ireland’s Cherish the Ladies; Diego Figueiredo Trio’s “Brazilian Nights,” the all-female Mariachi band Flor de Toloache; LA’s Las Cafeteras; and Hawaii’s Waipuna. Dance companies include Dorrance Dance, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and Lula Washington Dance Theatre, while modern circus arts and acrobatics are explored by Cirque Éloize in their latest production, Hotel.
“Our single ticket on sale date is always a highlight day for us,” says Cal Poly Arts Director Steve Lerian. “The response so far from the community in purchasing season subscriptions has been extraordinary. We’ve been presenting world-class performances in San Luis Obispo for the past 35 years, and I am confident in saying that this is one of, if not the, finest collection of artists and companies we have ever put together. I’m sure our patrons are going to love it.”
