After more than a year and a half of serving in the role of government affairs director at the Home Builders Association of the Central Coast, Mike Whiteford has left the organization. It is understood that the organization plans to launch a search for his replacement immediately. Earlier this year, Amber Johnson who also held legislative responsibilities at the HBA, left to organize the campaign for Lynn Compton for county supervisor. According to insiders, the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce is reopening its CEO search. The initial process this spring yielded more than 50 applicants from across the country but the search committee did not identify the ideal candidate in that pool. Plans for the interim CEO role are currently being determined by chamber leadership. Meanwhile, a new Santa Maria Valley Chamber CEO is slated to start at the beginning of July taking over from longtime CEO Bob Hatch. Glenn Morris – who previously served as the Visalia Chamber CEO – is a recognized Chamber industry leader expected to bring fresh perspective and a collaborative spirit to the Santa Maria Valley Chamber.
