The fifth annual Love SLO community wide day of service will be held March 11 in San Luis Obispo, California as part of the national Love Our Cities movement. The San Luis Obispo community will come together to celebrate their hometown and work alongside one another to benefit organizations throughout the city. This year’s community-wide day of service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
Love SLO has gained tremendous momentum in past years, with over 1,000 volunteers signing up for over 50 service projects annually. Love SLO has a vision to make San Luis Obispo an even better place to live. Inspired by the desire to meet needs of local community members, demonstrate kindness, and impact lives, a group of community leaders comes together each year to turn this vision into a reality.
Love SLO will kick off at 8:00am with a morning festival in Mission Plaza with an encouraging rally before volunteers and project leaders disperse to their designated service locations. The morning rally will have breakfast provided by the San Luis Obispo City Fire Fighters Association, coffee, face painting, photo station, an opportunity to learn hands-only CPR, activities for kids, and the police department, fire department, and San Luis Ambulance will be onsite with their emergency vehicles. Service projects
will run from 9:00am-12:00pm.
