The Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach (AGGB) Chamber of Commerce recently consolidated with the Nipomo Chamber of Commerce to become the South County Chambers of Commerce.

The AGGB Chamber of Commerce started in 1961 and has a 57-year history serving members from Avila Beach to Nipomo. The Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce merged with the Grover Beach Chamber in 2012.  The Nipomo Chamber is currently served by an all-volunteer staff.

“We think this will be a huge benefit to Nipomo Chamber members while continuing to grow our services to the Five Cities area,” said Jocelyn Brennan, President/CEO of the AGGB Chamber of Commerce—now called the South County Chambers of Commerce.

“The Chamber is a champion for local business and promotes a positive, balanced, and vital economy in South San Luis Obispo County,” said Sean Schuur, Chairman of the Board for the South County Chambers of Commerce. “Changing our name to South County Chambers of Commerce better reflects the membership region we cover.”

Members of the press and local business owners are invited to an exclusive logo reveal celebration on Thursday, August 2, at 12:30 p.m. at the Nipomo office at 239 W. Tefft St. The community is invited to the Chamber luncheon on August 15 at the South County Regional Center in Arroyo Grande and the Chamber mixer on August 22 at Huckleberry’s in Pismo Beach.

Dianne Brady will be the membership director for the Nipomo area. The office in Nipomo will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays at 239 W. Tefft St. The Arroyo Grande office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 800 A W. Branch St.
