The SLO Gran Fondo presented by VisitAvilaBeach.com, set for October 29-30, 2016, has announced that world class athlete Alison Tetrick of Cylance Professional Cycling will be part of the event’s Pro Panel on Saturday, October 29. The 31-year-old resident of Petaluma, Calif. will also race in the 100 mile GranFondo ride the next day. The third edition of the annual fall classic cycling event, produced by Race SLO, features three routes of 25 miles, 61 miles or 100 miles that showcase the scenic Central Coast of California.

“Alison is a perfect addition to our Pro Panel, and we are thrilled that she is also riding the GranFondo 100 Miles. She has impressive credentials that include serving as the current athlete representative on the USA Cycling Board, racing at the 2011 Pan Am Games and earning a bronze medal in the women’s Team Time Trial at the 2014 World Championships. In addition, after recovering from a traumatic brain injury and broken pelvis in 2010, she returned to world class cycling.”- Samantha Pruitt, Race SLO founder & CEO.

The SLO Gran Fondo 2016 Pro Panel also features author, commentator, former professional and returning event host Bob “Bobke” Roll, commentator and USA Cycling Chairman Bob Stapleton as well as several other cycling special guests on Saturday, October 29 from 3:00-5:00pm. Tickets are on sale now and seating is limited. Appetizers and wine included. The event again will benefit two San Luis Obispo non-profits the Hearst Cancer Resource Center and ALPHA Foundation.

“Being born on California’s Central Coast, it is extra special for me to come and celebrate cycling in such a beautiful place. I’m thrilled to join legends Bob Roll and Bob Stapleton on Saturday and Sunday in Avila Beach.” Alison Tetrick
