American Riviera Bank has hired Paul Abramson to join its leadership as Executive Vice President, Chief Technology officer, where he will head the bank’s technology and cybersecurity strategy. With 20 years of industry experience and expertise, 13 of which are in the banking sector specifically, Abramson will bring innovative solutions to American Riviera Bank for its growing client base throughout its Central Coast footprint.
“The digital advances of the past decade have changed the way we deliver banking services. These advances have brought both opportunities and challenges, with the importance of cybersecurity growing every day,” said American Riviera Bank President and CEO Jeff DeVine. “With Paul on our team, we are happy to say that American Riviera Bank will be as secure as ever moving forward – continuing to provide the responsive and flexible services we’re known for.”
Abramson previously served as the lead technologist and cybersecurity architect for Montecito Bank & Trust, and before that worked for a network security solutions provider designing and implementing threat management deployments for large enterprises. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Business Economics and has furthered his knowledge base by completing the Western Bankers Association Executive Development Program. A leader in his field, Abramson has been invited to present to industry groups including the FDIC, and frequently shares his cybersecurity expertise at community events with the aim of helping prevent fraud and financial crime in the local area. Abramson began his duties at American Riviera Bank on December 2nd.
“I am grateful to be a part of the American Riviera Bank team, and to support our local Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County communities,” said Abramson. “Knowing the work I do directly benefits and protects our clients is deeply fulfilling and motivating. I’m excited to join ARB’s strong team of local experts and help take our technology capabilities to the next level.”
When he’s not at work, Abramson enjoys family time with his wife and two sons. A fan of all things technology, Abramson recently returned from a trip to New York where he took his eldest son to watch the Formula E electric car races.
