Because of an unforeseen problem with her travel documents, Anne Perry is temporarily grounded in Scotland. With virtual technology she will still be with us to present “Anne Perry in Discussion with Victoria Zackheim” and “Women’s Voices” on Friday night and her Saturday workshop, “Plotting to Enhance Your Backstory.”
Every effort has been made to get Anne Perry to the Writers’ Conference. We had audacious help from Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, Senator Dianne Feinstein and Representative Lois Capps. All worked with Victoria Zackheim and our Writers’ Conference team to try and resolve this process with the complete support of Anne Perry.
Anne is disappointed that she will not be coming at this time to San Luis Obispo, but is happy to virtually welcome conference attendees into her home in Scotland during her presentations. As a gesture to the audience she has sent an autographed copy of her workshop handout and has also committed to come to San Luis Obispo for a personal presentation and book signing as soon as she is available. Everyone in attendance of this conference will be invited to this author event at no additional charge.
“I can also assure you that I witnessed Anne and Victoria in San Francisco and they were mesmerizing, which is why I wanted to bring this “moment in time” with two incredible authors,” said Judy Salamacha, CCWC Director. “Anne and Victoria have bonded as lifelong friends and will share insights you would never get in a keynote by one individual. We are so lucky to have the technology today and the willingness of an industry icon such as Anne Perry with 82 plus novels in print to share her insights long distance from Scotland.”
Dr. Matthew Green, Director of Cuesta College Community Programs, is pleased with the opportunity to use the new Cuesta College Cultural and Performing Arts Center in this multi-media presentation. The Friday night program is presented by Cuesta College Community Programs and the San Luis Obispo Library Foundation.
