The Arroyo Grande Rotary Club is proud to announce its 11th Annual Christmas & Holiday Sing-Along on Sunday, December 16. This special 4 p.m. matinee will take place at the Clark Center for the Performing Arts in Arroyo Grande.  Attendees will enjoy great regional music from performing groups and sing along all their favorite Christmas and holiday songs with family and friends. This charming annual community event caps off the holiday season leading up to Christmas and supports local performing arts groups with the show’s net proceeds. Arrangements are now being made for special appearances by Santa Claus!  There will also be complimentary holiday goodies and drinks will be provided for everyone in the lobby at the conclusion of the show.

Second year Musical Director Tricia Stewart has created this December show “A Swingin’ Christmas” and its ensemble of talent. Returning performers will include the Estero Brass, the Lucia Mar Youth Choir and the Grande Ringers from the Arroyo Grande United Methodist Church.  New to this year’s show will be the New Life Carolers, the Cross Traffic Acapella Singers and spirited local swing dancers. Rounding out the performers onstage will be pianist Dennis Eiler. Vibraphonist Brad Lusk will entertain attendees as they arrive to the festively decorated Clark Center Lobby. Audience Sing-Along songs will include “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman,” “Joy to the World” and “It’s Beginning to Look at Lot Like Christmas!” The show’s traditional sing-along closing number will be “The 12 Days of Christmas,” which inspires and requires everyone’s participation!

Each year the Arroyo Grande Rotary Club donates the net proceeds from the Sing-Along to worthy local school music and arts programs. Proceeds from the 2017 Sing-Along was granted to the Lucia Mar Youth Choir. The choir was established in January 2017 and has expanded musical opportunities for students interested in vocal music and performance. The choir is an after-school program that is offered to students enrolled in grades 4-8 in the Lucia Mar Unified School District. The 75 member choir is founded and directed by Raymund Ballesteros who is one of the elementary music teachers for LMUSD.

Rabobank is again the overall sponsor of the Sing-Along.  The show’s media sponsors are KSBY television, Dimes Media (including The Beach and KPIG radio stations) and the Coast News newspaper.  Complete event and sponsor information is now available at agrotary.org

Prices for the Christmas and Holiday Sing-Along are $12 for adults and $6 for children and students.
