One of the largest and most highly-anticipated book sales in the county, the 39th Annual SLO Friends of the Library Book Sale, will take place March 1 – 3, 2018 at the San Luis Obispo Veterans Memorial Building, 801 Grand Avenue. Dates and times are as follows:
Thursday, March 1nd 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
(Members only, with memberships sold at the door)
Friday, March 2rd 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 3th 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
There will be over 15,000 books, including a large number of children’s, teen and young adult books. Also well- stocked is the audiovisual department, which includes CDs, vinyl LPs, DVDs and audiobooks.
Books will be sold at $1.25 per inch. Audiovisual items will be sold at $2 each.
An excellent selection of Special Price Books will be available, which are rare or unusual titles of interest to the collector or specialist.
In the 38 years of the Sale, over $300,000 has been raised for the San Luis Obispo Library for materials, programs and renovations. In addition to Book Sale income, the Friends have received generous donations and bequests.
The book sale is also an important community event that promotes reading, and offers affordable books and audiovisual items for local families and individuals.
