With much going on in the local art scene this Fall, ARTS Obispo, one of San Luis Obispo County’s most prominent cultural organizations, announces the following programs for its exciting Fall schedule:

Central Coast Creative Economy Forum 5.0 – Join thought leaders for the fifth annual Creative Economy Forum as we discuss art and culture as economic drivers for the Central Coast. Hear from developers, artists, and decision makers on how together, we’ll achieve economically robust and vibrant communities. This event is made possible by Partnership with the Performing Arts Center of San Luis Obispo and local sponsors. The event will take place at the Performing ARTS Center, Thursday, September 6 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Those attending will get to listen to speakers such as Michelle Carlen, Central Coast Tourism Council President 2018-19, Todd Leon, Director of Development for affordable housing by CADA, and Dr. Jonathan York, Founder and Executive Director for Cal Poly Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Panel Discussions on Art & Culture as Economic Driver and Planning for Economic Sustainability are just a couple of highlighted events.

“The Hub” ARTS Obispo – Gallery Reception at The Hub on September 6, at 5 p.m. immediately following the Central Coast Creative Economy Forum. The community is invited to attend a ribbon cutting and gallery opening reception featuring artists participating in the upcoming Open Studios Art Tour. In partnership with Copeland/ Jamestown Company, ARTS Obispo announces the opening of The Hub ARTS Obispo located at 1040 Court Street, across from Peet’s Coffee in Downtown SLO. The Hub ARTS Obispo will feature works displayed by local artists, workshops where aspiring artists young and old can learn a myriad of techniques across many artistic mediums, Art- O-Rama for brown-bag lunch and art-creative games, storytelling and poetry readings, as well as special holiday events to be announced soon.

The Hub ARTS Obispo will be open Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Open Studios Art Tour – Celebrates its 20th year over two weekends, Oct. 13-14, and Oct. 20-21 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Local artists from all over SLO County will be opening their studios for you to enjoy their creations. There will be paintings, printmaking, sculptures, photography, jewelry, woodwork, ceramics and much more. There’s something for everyone!

Join the celebration at “The Hub” for the OSAT Preview Party September 7, 6 – 9 p.m. during ART AFTER DARK, and meet some of the artists, as well as pick up your free catalogue of all participating artists.

The Blend: Wine-Music-Art, an ARTS Obispo Fundraiser. Enjoy a fun filled evening celebrating ARTS Obispo, Harvest Weekend, and the final weekend of our 20th Anniversary Open Studios Art Tour. Hosted and sponsored by Tooth & Nail Winery, 3090 Anderson Road, in Paso Robles on October 19, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Please join us and support the ARTS in SLO County while enjoying art, music by the Damon Castillo Band, food, wine, as well as raffles and auction items.
