Family rancher and county supervisor, Debbie Arnold has received the endorsement of Atascadero Mayor Pro Tem Heather Moreno.
Moving to Atascadero just over ten years ago, Moreno is a natural leader who has used her private sector experience to make an immediate impact on the region. Originally appointed to the council in 2012, she was overwhelmingly elected in 2014 and as mayor pro tem, plans to continue advocating for fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and regional continuity.
“Debbie isn’t worried about popularity or politics when it comes to her decisions, she’s concerned about the wellbeing of her community,” Moreno said. “That’s the kind of leadership that I can support, and I trust that she will continue to permit her passion for the region as well as principles to underline her direction on the board.”
When Arnold is not working on the family ranch or as County Supervisor, she is volunteering time with numerous community organizations, such as: the Community Action Partnership of SLO, Integrated Waste Management Authority, Air Pollution Control District of SLO, The Community Link, Latino Outreach Council, and the Regional Transportation Authority.
As a supervisor for the last four years, Arnold has championed issues for taxpayers and local job creators. Her dedication to protecting personal rights and ensuring that local policies encourage economic growth stems from her experience in the private sector. Before working full time on the ranch and with the county, she spent nearly two decades educating and caring for the region’s youth as the owner of Small Wonders Preschool.
Arnold lives in the Pozo area with her husband, Steve Arnold. They are proud grandparents of four.
