Bank of the Sierra announced that a $5,000 grant was awarded to Transitional Food and Shelter of Paso Robles through its Sierra Grant program. Each quarter the bank commonly awards approximately $50,000 in grants to 10 to 20 organizations in the amount of $1,000 to $5,000 based on the specific needs of the organization.

Transitional Food and Shelter has provided essential transitional food and housing services to populations struggling with housing issues. In particular, TFS offers its services—including around-the-clock shelter—to recovering and chronically and terminally ill individuals. The Sierra Grant TFS received will go toward covering operational costs for its temporary and transitional shelter program.

“Bank of the Sierra is happy to recognize organizations that help improve the communities we live in, and Transitional Food and Shelter demonstrates that commitment to their community. We’re proud to support their cause.” – Kevin McPhaill, bank President and CEO

Since its inception in 2004 the Sierra Grant Program has been responsible for donating over a million dollars to organizations that improve local communities. The grants go toward fostering community services, park preservation, and educational programs. Non-profits who wish to apply for a Sierra Grant can pick up an instructional brochure at any Bank of the Sierra branch, or visit the bank’s web site at www.bankofthesierra.com/resources/sierra_grant_program.
