With large family gatherings potentially on hold this year, Thanksgiving plans are adapting with the times.  Hotel Cerro’s Brasserie SLO is here to help – with both a special Thanksgiving menu to enjoy at the restaurant, and an option that allows gatherings to heat and serve at home without the trouble of cooking a huge meal.

The in-restaurant, a la carte menu for Brasserie SLO features traditional and non-traditional menu items and provides diners with a choice of starters, main courses, and house-made pies for dessert.

Sharable Mediterranean-inspired appetizers include Oak Grilled Spanish Octopus with Sauce romesco, pickled shallot & charred lemon, and a Cheese & Charcuterie Board laded with a selection of cured meats & cheese, roasted almonds, honeycomb, cornichons, grain mustard, olives & grilled sourdough.  Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Chestnuts, Mascarpone, Candied Fennel, and a salad of Scarborough Farms Mixed Greens topped with Goat Cheese Mousse, Dates & Hazelnuts, are more traditional choices, with platters of Morro Bay Oysters rounding out the menu.

For their main course, guests of Brasserie SLO are invited to go with the established, but nonetheless satisfying and savory route of Slow Roasted Diestel Farms Turkey Breast served with buttery mashed potatoes, sourdough stuffing, glazed root vegetables, giblet gravy, and orange cranberry compote.  Or they can break with convention and indulge in an Oak Grilled Snake River Farms New York Steak with pommes purée, roasted cultivated mushrooms, and caramelized onion jus, or Oro King Salmon accompanied by Kale pesto, buttermilk polenta, and salt roasted celery root & garlic pommes purée.  Curried Butternut Squash Risotto provides for a flavorful vegetarian option and is garnished with Citrus mascarpone and toasted chestnuts with raisins.

Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without pie, and the choices run from Dutch Apple Crumble and Classic Pumpkin to Whiskey Pecan and Vanilla Bean Buttermilk.  Thanksgiving patrons can order just a slice or the whole pie to share family style.

Thanksgiving dinner at BrasserieSLO will be served from 11:00 am – 7:30 pm, with reservations required for parties of six or more.  In addition to indoor seating, there Is plenty of al fresco choices on the Brasserie’s terrace and on the Mission Fig Patio.

For those who would prefer to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast around their own dining table but without the fuss, much of the cleanup, and with the added expertise of a professional chef, Brasserie SLO has created “Take & Bake” family meals.  Available in increments of four servings, the dinner can be expanded upon to accommodate individual gatherings.

The Take & Bake Thanksgiving To-Go meals Include Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, a Scarborough Farms Mixed Greens salad, and Slow Roasted Diestel Farms Turkey Breast.  Served with a delectable selection of traditional sides including buttery mashed potatoes, sourdough stuffing, glazed root vegetables, giblet gravy, and orange cranberry compote, each meal is cold packed and contains detailed heating instructions.  Dessert is a choice of one of SLO Brasserie’s house-made pies.  They can be ordered through November 22 with pickup available Thanksgiving Day and the day before.
