verdin marketingAfter five years and more than $500,000 in value donated to the Central Coast’s nonprofit community, Verdin announces that nominations are open for this year’s 24-Hour Give.

The tri-county community is invited to submit nominations for their favorite nonprofit organization to be the recipient of this year’s 24-Hour Give– the winner will be awarded a complete rebrand for their organization. The most exciting aspect, and biggest challenge, of this event is that the complete rebrand literally happens over a span of 24 consecutive hours.

Nominations for Verdin’s Sixth Annual 24-Hour Give open on Friday, September 20, 2019, and will be open for one week, closing at 5pm on Friday, September 27.

Partnering with businesses throughout the Central Coast, Verdin will complete this challenge in the amount of time it takes the Earth to spin on its axis. This year’s theme is “Night of the 24-Hour Give,” which draws inspiration from the all-night nature of the event and a current pop culture interest in zombies. “We’re looking forward to becoming ‘marketing zombies’ once again for the good of a worthy charity,” explained Verdin President Mary Verdin.

From the planning meeting that kicks things off at 8am on Thursday, November 21, to the Big Reveal at 8am the next day, the team at Verdin and their partners will donate their time and talents to create a new logo, website, marketing plan, advertising campaign, videos, and more.

“We could not do this full rebrand so successfully without our partners,” said Verdin. “They increase the value exponentially, and make it so the nonprofit not only has the assets to tell their story, but also that we have the media time to get those stories out.” Verdin gives props to all of their partners, with a special callout to NDIC for website development services, Todd Peterson with Red Canary for video production and Embassy Suites for donation of a fundraising gala for 300 people. Local businesses also donate to the Give by delivering meals to the Verdin office or offering activities to maintain team morale and energy.

Once the nomination period is over, two finalists will be selected and the community will vote to determine which finalist will be the Give recipient. The runner-up will also receive a generous marketing package donated by Verdin and their partners. Community members can vote every 24 hours for their favorite nonprofit. The voting period is from October 18 and October 28.

ABOUT THE 24-HOUR GIVE

For its first 10 years in business, Verdin would throw a grand holiday party for clients, vendors, media, community VIPs and friends and family. In 2014, the marketing company decided to use those resources to do something more meaningful.

This desire led to the first-ever 24-Hour Give event on November 20 and 21, 2014. The goal was to give a worthy local nonprofit an entire rebrand — from logo to website — in just 24 hours. Smaller, locally based nonprofits often lack the means to create a unique brand for themselves, resulting in low visibility and decreased chances of success. Verdin decided this was a meaningful way to make a difference; they redirected the time and resources that went into their annual holiday party to a deserving charity. Past recipients include OP C.O.YLiteracy for LifeMeals that ConnectStand Strong and Creek Lands.
