Point San Luis LighthouseThe Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing lighthouse lovers to join our family.

The Keepers Docent Training series will begin a five week course on March 6. Each training course will take place on a Thursday evening and focus on learning the history and interpreting the story of the Point San Luis Lighthouse for the more than 7,000 annual visitors to the Light Station.

Lighthouse Keeper Docents have the opportunity to engage with visitors on weekly guided tours and many events throughout the year. Lighthouse Docents, once trained, are asked to commit to 8 hours a month of service by docenting, helping with events, or helping with special projects. All volunteers are eligible to participate in the benefit program which includes discounts in the gift shop and tour tickets to reward you for your time.

If you would like to join our family and share in the preservation of the beautiful Light Station, Volunteer Coordinator, Deborah Foughty would like to hear from you. You can contact Deb via email at [email protected]. This annual training has a limited number of spaces available, so reach out to Deb today, and become a Lighthouse Keeper!
