CASA San Luis Obispo County has received a $5,000 grant from The Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County. This grant will be used toward operating costs of CASA’s Infant/Toddler Program serving abused and neglected infants and toddlers. All of these children are under the court’s jurisdiction and most live in foster care.

CASA of San Luis Obispo County was chosen to receive this grant and is among 30 recipients, whose grants total $228,800.

This year’s grant making program is made possible through the generous support of the Foundation’s Community Endowment and many donor funds held at the Foundation. In only 16 years, the CFSLOCO has given out more than $28 million in grants to assist nonprofit agencies.  For more information on the CFSLOCO or any funds, call 543-2323 or log onto www.cfsloco.org.

CASA is in its 23rd year in the county. CASA recruits, screens, trains, and closely supervises community volunteers who advocate for children who have been abused and neglected. CASA volunteers become dedicated advocates for these children with the goal of securing a safe, nurturing, and “forever” home for each child in need.
