The Central Coast Aquarium is pleased to announce the selection of Sally Krenn as the recipient of the 2018 Ocean Stewardship Award. The annual award recognizes an individual who has made a positive and lasting impact on marine science in San Luis Obispo County in the areas of research, conservation, volunteerism or philanthropy. This year’s award will be presented at CCA’s annual fundraiser, “Catch of the Central Coast,” scheduled for Saturday, September 8 at 5 p.m. at the Avila Bay Golf Resort.

As a marine and terrestrial biologist with PG&E at Diablo Canyon for 35 years, Krenn worked from Port San Luis to Point Buchon to assist with natural and cultural monitoring, grazing and managed access programs. Additionally, Krenn developed and managed marine science education programs at Diablo Canyon for students at local high schools, Cuesta College and Rancho El Chorro. And, she created a mobile aquarium program for elementary schools and for events at the Natural History Museum in Morro Bay.
