“Saving Chayah”, a short documentary about the life and journey of a rescue horse and his owner, recently won an award at the EQUUS Art and Film Festival for Best Narrative under 10 minutes. The film was shot at Equine Center in San Luis Obispo in October, and was submitted to the film festival later that month, going on to win the award for Best Narrative under 10 minutes after premiering at the festival on December 8th.
The inspirational story was shot and produced by Ben Ferguson, the director of Zenith Visuals, a video production company based in SLO County. The short film is based on the story of Lisa Kincaid and her horse Chayah, who she adopted out of an abandoned and abused situation 2 years ago.
