Construction on the new SLO Brewing Co. location at 736-738 Higuera St. is set to begin in approximately 10 days. The expanded location – which will feature three levels including a restaurant, bar and brewery, concert venue and roof top patio—is planned for opening around April 2014. Changes are also underway for a few other local watering holes. Vintage 1255, a wine shop at 1255 Monterey St. at the corner of Johnson Avenue has recently gone through a change in ownership back to one of the original owners, John Stipicevich. He and his partner, Donna Wolfe, assumed responsibility at the end of May from the most recent owners, Rick and Lisa Gomez.  Stipicevich had opened the original iteration of the wine and cheese shop in June 2006 with Sanctuary Tobacco Shop owner Doug Shaw before the duo sold it in 2009. Finally, the owners of Meze Wine Café & Market at 1880 Santa Barbara Ave. at Railroad Square, recently sold to a Bay Area couple. Insiders report that the concept of Meze—namely a wine and cheese shop, wine bar, deli and café – will remain intact with the change in ownership.
