The City is reminding all community members of the critical importance of following social distancing requirements and adhering to the current Shelter at Home Order.

“Social distancing saves lives. We are all in this together and we are counting on every member of the San Luis Obispo community to do their part. We must act now,” said Mayor, Heidi Harmon.

These measures are vital to slowing the spread of COVID-19 in our community and to protecting the health and safety of our friends, families, neighbors and especially those most vulnerable. The Shelter at Home Order is intended to limit activity, travel, and business functions to the most basic and essential needs. While outside of the home, the six-foot social distancing requirements must be followed at all times including at grocery stores, parks, and hiking trails. Six feet is the height of most ladders or the length of a standard bed.

“This is a critical moment for our community and the actions we collectively take now will saves lives later, be sensible and responsible.” said City Manager, Derek Johnson. “Additional actions for public spaces may be considered by the City should social distancing requirements not be followed.”
