The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County is pleased to announce a gift of $100,000 from a local philanthropic leader in the county, Sammy Pineau. This grant will be used to support the Foundation’s mission as a grant making and education foundation supporting nonprofit organizations across the county.

“We are all fortunate to have The Community Foundation in our county to assist so many of us who are interested in making our local giving have an impact,” Pineau said.

“We are honored by Sammy’s continued support and her commitment to our mission,” said Heidi McPherson, CEO of The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County. “And we are grateful for her support to the Foundation as well as so many nonprofit agencies in our community.”

Last year, The Community Foundation awarded more than two million dollars in grants and scholarships with more than 80 percent of grant funding remaining locally in San Luis Obispo County. Support from The Community Foundation continues to grow thanks to the hundreds of individuals, families, local businesses, companies, and private foundations that work with The Community Foundation to advance philanthropy in our community.
