Two growing San Luis Obispo based IT companies are joining forces to better serve the technology needs of area businesses. Digital West Networks, Inc. has acquired MindTap Technologies, a Managed Service Provider founded in 2006 with a commitment to providing the highest quality IT support, service, and products to businesses. The acquisition allows MindTap’s customers to receive an even greater level of service and assistance through Digital West’s local 24/7/365 Network Operations Center and CIO consulting services.

Digital West may be best known throughout San Luis Obispo County for its fiber optic network which provides high speed fiber Internet to businesses. Digital West also operates a 24/7/365 data center, providing colocation and virtualization services along with network monitoring and management.

“Digital West and MindTap have been partners for several years, and it made sense from a business perspective to combine our offerings and deliver the best customer experience possible. It’s really a win- win situation,” stated Tim Williams, CEO/Founder of Digital West Networks, Inc. “We are thrilled to

bring MindTap’s team on board and provide even greater support and services to our clients. It will allow us to really grow and support our large enterprise customers and exceed their expectations.”

Ean Smythe, owner of MindTap Technologies, is similarly enthusiastic about the transition. “Digital West has been a key partner for MindTap over the years because of their cloud, datacenter, and Metro Fiber services.  But more importantly, MindTap and Digital West were partners because of our shared vision

to provide world-class service to our clients.  Digital West has always been a model partner, and we are so happy to provide even better service and value to our combined clients as a single organization under the respected Digital West name.”

Leadership from both companies have already communicated the change to their respective customers. The organizational and operational shift will take place throughout Q4 of this year, when the MindTap team will transition to Digital West.
