Downtown SLO is pleased to announce the winners of the annual Window Decorating Contest. The winners are:

  • People’s Choice: Moon River Salon & Spa

Judges Brent Vanderhoof, Dominic Tartaglia, Austin Bertucci, Stan Carpenter, Stephen Patrick, Landy Fike, and Eva Ulz, representing Downtown SLO Board members, Cultural Arts Committee Members, and staff, judged the windows the evening on November 28. Windows were judged on creativity, lighting, and adherence to the theme, Holiday Hoedown.

The public was invited to vote for People’s Choice from November 24 until December 15, when the contest closed. Every year, businesses are encouraged to participate in the contest to create a festive and welcoming holiday atmosphere in Downtown San Luis Obispo and create visual interest in their business. This year, 26 Downtown businesses participated in the contest, including 2 Blondes Boutique, AT & T Spring Mobile, Ambiance, Change of a Dress, Fanny Wrappers, H & M, Hands Gallery, HumanKind Fair Trade, Len Collective, Letter and Grain, Mee Heng Low Noodle House, Michael’s Optical, San Luis Traditions, Stephen Patrick Design, Tails Pet Boutique, The BladeRunner Salon & Day Spa, The Sock Drawer, Twig & Arrow Salon, Unique Selections, Urban Optics, and We Olive SLO.

Over 400 votes were cast in the online People’s Choice survey, a record for public participation. Winners receive a certificate and a bag filled with gifts from local businesses.
