downtownslo Downtown SLO is pleased to present “Merchandising 101”, a workshop for retailers to learn how to effectively merchandise their storefronts and create enticing displays to attract customers. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, October 30 from 8 AM to 10 AM at Femme Jules D. located at 691 Higuera Street. Doors open at 7:45 AM. Breakfast treats and coffee will be available for attendees.

Speakers include Jules DuRocher, who has owned her boutique Jules D. for over six years and opened sister store Femme Jules D. this past September. Ariel Shannon, who has owned Bluebird Salon for 10 years, will also contribute to the panel. A question and answer session for guests will follow the speakers.

Retailers are encouraged to attend this free seminar in light of the upcoming holiday season and Small Business Saturday, which takes place on November 24 this year. In an age defined by online shopping, enhancing and curating an attractive storefront is critically important.

This event is free, though attendees must register via DowntownSLO.com to reserve their spot. Attendees can also share the event via Facebook.

Downtown SLO continues to serve its membership with this free education series, which is aimed at supporting the business community in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Previous topics include Introduction to Social Media for Business and Crime Prevention Through Design.
