To ensure a safe and healthy voting experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, San Luis Obispo County is offering several choices to vote in the November 3, 2020 election.

Drop Off Vote-By-Mail Ballot:  You may drop off mail-in ballots at any of the 19 Official Ballot Drop Boxes in the County or at any of the 23 Voter Service Center during hours of operation.  Make sure the identification envelope is signed before you return the ballot. Vote-By-Mail ballots that are postmarked on or before Election Day and received within seventeen days of the election are eligible to be counted. However, Vote-By-Mail ballots that are personally delivered at a Voter Service Center, at a Vote By Mail ballot drop, or at the County Clerk-Recorder’s offices in San Luis Obispo must be RECEIVED by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

There are three Official Ballot Drop Box locations in San Luis Obispo.

Voter Service Centers are Now Open: You may vote in person at any Voter Service Center beginning October 31st.  Please note that voters can go to any Voter Service Center located throughout the County instead of assigned polling places.  Safe and secure COVID-19 protocols will be in place at all Voter Service Centers.  Drive-by-Drop off of Vote-By-Mail ballots is available at all Voter Service Centers throughout the County. If you want to vote at the polls instead of voting by mail, take the ballot with you to surrender, but if you have misplaced your ballot, new legislation allows Vote-By-Mail voters to vote a regular poll ballot if it is determined that their ballots were not returned.
