The Board of Directors of Festival Mozaic announced that Lloyd Tanner will take on the role of Executive Director, following a nationwide search conducted by the Arts Consulting Group. Mr. Tanner will officially join Festival Mozaic on May 23, 2019 and will immediately focus his attention on the Festival’s 49th season, which opens July 24. Search Committee Chair and Board President Jo Anne Miller noted “We are incredibly excited to welcome Lloyd Tanner to the Festival Mozaic family. His leadership experience and accomplishments achieved at internationally recognized arts organizations will help further establish the ambitious artistic programming of our Music Director Scott Yoo. We look forward to collaborating with Lloyd on further engaging our donors and stakeholders and building their support for the mission and programs of the Festival.”
Maestro Yoo added, “I am extremely happy that Lloyd Tanner has agreed to take the helm of Festival Mozaic as Executive Director. His infectious enthusiasm, broad intellect, and deep experience will be invaluable as we head into our 50th Anniversary Season in 2020.”
With over 20-years of performing arts administration experience, Mr. Tanner’s professional stops have included management positions with the Los Angeles Opera, Washington National Opera, Washington Ballet, Atlanta Symphony, and most recently, Santa Monica’s Broad Stage. During his tenure at the LA Opera, his significant fundraising expertise helped provide the funding of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. Mr.
Tanner said, “I am humbled by this tremendous opportunity to help carry forward the artistic vision Festival Mozaic and Scott Yoo have established and to join an organization deeply supported by the community of San Luis Obispo, a committed board and a devoted staff.”
