Festival Mozaic is thrilled to announce the San Luis Obispo Music Festival Winter 2025, a spectacular week of world-class chamber music performances from February 19-22, 2025. Led by Music Director and violinist Scott Yoo, this winter festival will showcase an extraordinary lineup of guest artists, including internationally renowned cellist Bion Tsang and pianist Adam Neiman. In addition, Festival Mozaic is honored to welcome back esteemed pianist Hélène Grimaud for a special solo recital.
The festival will present a rich and diverse chamber music program, featuring masterworks by Beethoven, Grieg, and Ravel, performed in intimate and acoustically superb venues throughout San Luis Obispo County.
Winter Festival Highlights Include:
- Hélène Grimaud in Recital – February 19, 2025, 7:30 PM at Cuesta College’s Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center. Internationally celebrated pianist Hélène Grimaud returns to Festival Mozaic for a breathtaking solo recital. Grimaud, who previously performed with the Festival Orchestra in 2022, will captivate audiences with her profound artistry and virtuosic interpretations.
- Beethoven – Piano Sonata No. 30 in E major, Op. 109
- Brahms – Three Intermezzi for piano, Op. 117
- Brahms – Fantasies, Op. 116
- J. S. Bach – Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004 (arr. Busoni)
- Notable Insight: Beethoven & Grieg – February 20, 2025, 5:30 PM at Patty Boyd Hall, Allan Hancock College. An intimate evening featuring musical discussion and performance, offering deeper insight into the composers’ works and the creative process behind the festival’s programming.
- Notable Dinner: Ravel’s Piano Trio in A Minor – February 21, 2025, 5:30 PM at The Monday Club, San Luis Obispo, CA. A unique culinary and musical experience pairing fine dining with an intimate performance of Ravel’s evocative and richly textured piano trio.
- Chamber Music Concert – February 22, 2025, 2:00 PM at Templeton Performing Arts Center. A thrilling afternoon of chamber music featuring:
- Beethoven – Piano Trio No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 1, No. 1
- Grieg – Sonata in A Minor for Cello and Piano
- Ravel – Piano Trio in A Minor
