The Five Cities Orchid Society will hold an orchid meeting and membership drive in Los Osos on January 19, 2020 at CalCoast Orchids from 2-4 pm.
Learn how to grow, bloom and rebloom Phaleanopsis, the moth orchid and tour CalCoast Orchids Greenhouse Facility. Discover how they optimize conditions to grow over 120,000 of these amazing plants. There will be refreshments, an orchid raffle table and orchids will be available for sale. (Get free raffle tickets if you bring something to share for the refreshment table.)

The Five Cities Orchid Society is affiliated with the American Orchid Society and Orchid Digest. Formed in 1990, the FCOS organizes the California Central Coast Orchid Show in Arroyo Grande. “Our mission is to encourage growing, blooming and the enjoyment of orchids and companion plants by our members and the general public. To sponsor outreach, research and educational programs to promote orchid growing as a hobby or business. To promote the conservation of orchids in the wild.”
Monthly meetings feature guest speakers, demonstrations, Show & Tell, plant opportunity tables and opportunities for socialization.
The Five Cities Orchid Society sponsors the Central Coast Orchid Show and Sale each spring at Arroyo Grande’s South County Regional Center County. which gives members the opportunity to exhibit their plants in the FCOS Display for judging by the American Orchid Society.
