Food 4 Less grocery stores in San Luis Obispo County and the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County will be collaborating again for the 9th annual “Have A Heart” campaign. The Food Bank has made it their mission to work with a network of community partners to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County and build a healthier community. To join them in this effort, stop by your local Food 4 Less store and purchase a heart at the check stand. This pink paper heart will symbolize your commitment to help end hunger in your community. Donations will be collected throughout the entire month of April. With your support, we can reach our goal of raising $20,000!

For every $1 donated the Food Bank can provide $10 worth of food.

Remember that every little bit counts and no act of kindness is too small. With 46,000 people in San Luis Obispo County needing food assistance, your heartfelt contributions will help the Food Bank get one step closer to achieving their mission. A big thank you to Food 4 Less and community supporters for making “Have A Heart” successful year after year. Please help us make this the most successful year to date!

About the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County

The Food Bank Coalition is a non-profit, tax exempt organization, serving all of San Luis Obispo County through food distribution programs and a network of community partners. Our mission is to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County and build a healthier community. Last year we distributed nearly 6 million pounds of food to help our neighbors facing with hunger. Nearly half of the food we distributed was fresh produce, including nearly 250,000 pounds harvested locally by our GleanSLO program. We collaborate with our nation’s network of Food Banks and effectively utilize our team of over 2,100 volunteers, keeping our overhead at a very low 6%.
