French 300French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC), which along with Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH) and Marian Regional Medical Center (MRMC) are Dignity Health’s Central Coast hospitals, is proud to announce a three-part educational Diabetic Community Class Series beginning Oct. 30 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. in Room 105A of the Pacific Medical Plaza, 1941 Johnson Ave.

This class series is designed for the newly diagnosed type two diabetic or those who need a refresher course. The goal of the classes is to empower patients to better manage their diabetes. The classes will be held on the below dates in Room 105A of the Pacific Medical Plaza from 3:30 to 5 p.m.:

Oct. 30
– Conversations to explain and understand your type 2 diabetes diagnosis

Nov. 6
– How to eat to improve blood glucose management and overall health

Nov. 13
– A lifestyle of healthy living – why test your blood sugar, benefits of exercise, taking medications, setting goals, and what to ask your doctor

The community classes will be lead by Molly Wagman, registered dietician (RD). The classes are free of charge, and are open to the public. Participants should plan on attending all sessions, and will receive follow-up support and education upon request. Discount meal tickets will be available for attendees at the French Café.
