Bib Brothers Big Sisters 250The Southern California Gas Company awarded a grant of $5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters to support the agency’s School Based Mentoring programs. The program pairs college and high school students with elementary students whose parents often work long hours and is designed to build developmental assets in vulnerable children through role models and mentor friendships.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director, Anna Boyd Bucy said “Thanks to Chevron’s funding, the younger students are gaining confidence while the older students build leadership skills.”

Tim Mahoney from the Gas Company said “The Gas Company is glad to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a part of our community outreach.”
